Summary

    On July 13 a gunman now identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks was seen by bystanders on the roof of a building that happened to be the same building that law enforcement was using for a staging area. The bystanders reported the gunman to the nearby authorities. It took roughly 26-30 minutes for the authorities to respond to the shooter. This time lapse resulted in the shooter being able to fire multiple rounds at President Donald Trump hitting him in the ear. A firefighter and Trump Supporter was also shot to death by the gunman. named Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who dived on top of his family to save them from the gunfire.  Trump dropped to the floor of the stage and Secret Service officers swarmed him as the gunman was shot to death by rooftop snipers. Trump was rushed off the stage by an abysmal team of SS officers one of which could not even manage to holster her gun in the chaotic rush to the hospital where President Trump was treated for his injury. 

    It was determined that President Trump's Secret Service detail was not adequate for the event. It was noted that some of the officers weren't even tall enough to shield him from gunfire. Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service officer who served in the Obama Administration, commented on the event on his shows as did many other social media personalities. Some social media influencers who did not like Trump posted deplorable comments where they wished the shooter had not missed the President. They should be shamed for these kind of inflammatory statements and some have lost their jobs because of their comments online. 

    Iconic photos were taken of President Donald Trump with his fist raised in defiance as Secret Service agents shielded him on all sides as he left the stage. In the video of this moment he shouts "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

    Joe Biden responded to the event and some of his words from the past came back to haunt him. He said in the past that they needed to keep a "bullseye" on trump. When questioned about this by Lester Holt, Biden responded with "I didn't say crosshairs" another of his obvious gaffs which many believe to be a result of his declining mental acuity.
